Sophie was born in Alaska, so she grew up in a hut made of snow, a friendly polar bear her only companion.

Until recently she worked at a college where she yelled at DVD players until they cooperated, and squinted at video scopes until she went crosseyed. She is way into baking cookies and watching movies and climbing trees and soldering the perfect mic cable.

She currently lives in fabulous Portland, Oregon, where is the Programming Coordinator at the local community access cable station. That means she schedules what will play on the channels, and works with public-access producers to make sure their shows go on the air with no major disasters.
